Pancho Rosário of the GCL (NYY) Yankees was right on target when he blanked the GCL (DET) Tigers 8-0, yielded 2 hits and totaled 2 walks and 8 strikeouts.
Speaking to SION reporters after the game, Rosário said, "I had everything working today and I got some help from my defense, too. They saved my butt a few times."
To date this season, Rosário has a record of 3 wins and 3 losses and a 1.68 ERA. He has appeared in 8 games and struck out 53 in 48.1 innings.

 | Thursday, July 14th, 2011: Hopps Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
Shawn Hopps really sizzled at the plate in today's 12-6 win over Braves. The GCL (STL) first baseman blistered GCL (ATL) for 5 hits in 6 at-bats.
"Hopps was too tough to get out today," the Braves skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
S. Hopps singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Á. López in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
Hopps is currently hitting at a .333 pace with 2 home runs and 4 RBIs.

 | Wednesday, July 13th, 2011: Beasley Twirls Nationals to Shutout Victory
Robby Beasley of the GCL (WSH) Nationals shut out the GCL (LA) Dodgers 1-0, stopped them on 1 hit and had 3 strikeouts and 2 walks in a strong outing.
After the game his manager said, "He just came out and was on the attack from the first pitch he threw. When Robby stays ahead in the count, he does well. That's the key."
