He pounded out a .400 average and was voted the Player of the Week. Over the last week Shelton connected for 8 hits in 20 at-bats and 3 home runs, drove in 5 runs and scored 7 times.
This season Shelton has hit at a .321 clip with 13 RBIs, 7 home runs and 13 runs scored. He has played in 17 games. |  | Friday, July 8th, 2011: Hodges 5-6 for Royals History in the making. That's what the fans at Burlington Athletic Stadium got to see today, when Burlington outplayed the Braves 9-7. Tyrone Hodges of the Royals came to the plate 6 times and came away with a dynamite day as he exploded for 5 hits against Danville.
In the postgame press conference the Danville skipper quipped to reporters, "Hey, we tried to get him out. We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the kitchen sink."
T. Hodges struck out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off P. Dickson in the 10th.

After the second or third inning, I got real comfortable," Jerry Fletcher said in his postgame interview. "Hopefully this is a building block for me. I'm hoping for a few more starts like this."
