Monday, July 11th, 2011: Week's Best Player Honored by NWL
According to the voters, Manny Hernández of the Yakima Bears had the best week of all Northwest League hitters as he was named this week's Player of the Week.

The left fielder's accomplishments include 13 hits in 26 at-bats, a .500 batting average, 6 home runs, 11 RBIs and 9 runs scored.

This season Hernández is batting .421 with 32 hits and 6 home runs. He has scored 15 times and has 18 RBI.
Monday, July 4th, 2011: Everett's Goodman Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
Clint Goodman exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Everett Memorial Stadium. The Everett left fielder had a field day in the 14-3 triumph over the Boise Hawks, finishing up with a 5-5 day and a spot in the league record book.

"My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Well, Goodman must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat.

C. Goodman singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 8th and walked in the 9th.

Goodman is batting .389 this season in 13 games with 2 home runs, 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has 21 hits in 54 at-bats.
Monday, July 4th, 2011: Watson Sticks It to NWL Pitchers
20-year-old left fielder Tad Watson of the Eugene Emeralds is the talk of the Northwest League for putting on a torrid hitting display last week and claiming the Player of the Week Award.

Watson rapped out a sensational .419 batting average with 13 hits in 31 at-bats, 2 home runs and 9 RBIs.
