Monday, July 11th, 2011: Midwest League's Hottest Hitter
A hot-hitting week got Johnathan Sinclair the Midwest League Player of the Week trophy. He really wore out his welcome with league pitchers.

The Clinton first baseman slammed them for a .486 average, 17 hits in 35 at-bats, 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and scored 9 runs.

In the postgame press conference, Sinclair shared his hitting philosophy with the SION scribes: "Just look for the seams and hit between them...nothin' more than that."

Thursday, July 7th, 2011: López Too Tough, Blanks Burlington
Cristián López effectively shut down the Bees today, blanking them 10-0 on 5 hits, ringing up 6 strikeouts and allowing 2 walks. The Lumberkings pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on.

"I don't know if I was getting any stronger," López said after the game, "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there."

The Bees skipper said, "We had some opportunities, but weren't able to execute. We just didn't swing the bats very well today."
