But a 5-hit game only comes around once in a blue moon. It happened at Lake Elsinore Diamond when Colt Pittman of Lake Elsinore scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Visalia Oaks.
He walloped 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Storm get by the Oaks 5-3.
In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the second baseman of the Storm exclaimed, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens...good things happen...like 5-5. I could get used to a lot of days like this one."
C. Pittman singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
This year Pittman is hitting .317 with 102 hits, 9 home runs, 60 RBIs and has scored 55 runs. |  | Friday, July 15th, 2011: Pennington Strong Arms 66ers in Shutout Today at John Thurman Field Pete Pennington baffled Inland Empire batters on 1 hit en route to a 11-0 shutout.
"He was able to keep hitters off balance and got the ball down," said the Nuts skipper about his starter's performance.
Pennington had 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in the game.

The Lake Elsinore catcher rapped out 12 hits in 23 at-bats for a .522 batting average, drove in 13 runs and scored 6 times.
So far in 2011 Billings has hit .359 with 13 home runs and 73 RBIs.
