Monday, June 13th, 2011: Texas League's Best Batter Named
Ty Stutzman must have thought he was dreaming. First he went on an exceptional week-long batting spree, bashing the ball at a .619 clip, then the Midland shortstop finds outs he has been chosen the league's best performer and gets the TEX Player of the Week Award.

He told SION reporters in the postgame, "It was a great week for me. I could see the ball so well. Plus some of the balls seemed to have good eyes, too."

For the week Stutzman batted .619 (13-21) with 2 home runs and 3 RBIs.

So far this year Stutzman has hit .347 with 7 home runs, 30 RBIs and scored 28 runs.
